Floor Hockey 5's

Come show off your stick handling and goal-scoring skills.  This fall, both our Recreational & Intermediate leagues will play on Thursday nights.  Space is limited, so register early to secure your spot.


This high spirit and zero-contact league gives you an outlet to play the sport you love! If you're looking for a truly awesome cardio experience then this is the league for you!

COVID-19 Protocol & Safe Return


We are committed to providing the highest levels of safety for our community.  Take some time to read our mandatory 'Safe Return to Play Protocol & Guidelines' for all activities.

If Nova Scotia implements a vaccine passport to gain entry to recreation facilities, refunds and credits will not be provided to teams and/or players who are not eligible to participate due to these regulations.

Start / End Dates

Thursday: Starts Thursday, October 7 and ends on Thursday, December 16.

League start and end dates are subject to change.  HSSC endeavors to provide registered players and individuals with as much notice as possible should changes occur.

10 games (8 regular season games + 2 playoff games)

Estimated Game Times

Game length is 55 minutes

Start times rotate between 6:00pm - 10:00pm.

Please note: HSSC makes every effort to ensure all teams receive an even mix of game times.  In the event games are rescheduled, weekend and off-night games may be played.

Price & Registration Options

Team Registration:  $680.00+ HST
That’s just $8.50 per player, per game (based on an average team roster)

Individual Registration: $125.00 + HST (That’s $12.50 per game!)

Team Registrants:  After checkout, send your teammates roster invites through the website (under "My Team" player list) so they can accept the waiver and access the schedule and standings once it is posted.   

Individual Registrants:  You will be placed on a roster of individuals two days before your first game. For ease of communication with our office, teams must select a captain, co-captain and Team Safety Ambassador (TSA) on our website to represent your team.

Rosters & Schedule Schedules and Individual Team Rosters will be posted online two days before your league is set to start.

How to request to play with a friend or two

In preparation for a potential vaccine passport implementation in Nova Scotia, Please be advised that the Sport & Social Club (SSC) is required to follow all Provincial Health Orders which may include the requirement for all players to be partially or fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to participate in SSC leagues. At this time, some facility (i.e., university/college, school boards, public, private, etc.) requirements for vaccination will impact a player’s eligibility to play. Players who do not meet these conditions should register for SSC activities at their own discretion. Refunds and credits will not be provided to teams and/or players who are not eligible to participate due to these regulations. Captains are reminded to share this information with all players ahead of registration.

What you need to know about Floor Hockey 5's:

5 Players on court including goalie (minimum 2 males and 2 females)

Suggested roster size of 8 - 12 players.

Roster Requirements

COVID-19 LEAGUE MODIFICATIONS - Each sport has specific mandatory roster requirements. 

Floor Hockey 5's:

  • As a result of capacity limits, each team roster size must not exceed 10 players at each game.
  • Substitute players are permitted.
  • All players on your team (including substitute players) are required to sign the waiver and must show on your team’s roster online.


Team Safety Ambassador (TSA)

COVID-19 LEAGUE MODIFICATIONS - All teams must assign a Team Safety Ambassador (TSA) for the season. 

The TSA must be a registered player and identified using the “TSA” label in your online roster.

COVID-19 EQUIPMENT MODIFICATIONS -  Equipment including nets, sticks and balls will be provided and set-up each week.

  • Goalie equipment will not be provided on-site (this also includes goalie masks). 
    • Exception:  Goalie sticks provided on-site.
  • Teams are responsible for providing Goalie Gear.  Do not share your goalie gear with other players or teams. 
  • Teams should read and understand the goaltender equipment requirements. These are located in the sport rules tab.

Sports Equipment will be sanitized between games.

  • Players must use the provided SSC hockey sticks.  Exception: players may use DOM C6 Cup or DOM EL-93 Elite 54” sticks & blades (based on previous approval from the SSC).  DOM EL-93 XT 60” is not permitted. 
  • Must use DOM standard blade (SB-76). All players on the same team must use the same colour blade (either red or blue).
  • Can wear eye protection, gloves & shin guards (soccer) although not mandatory but is recommended.
  • Teams should bring both light and dark coloured shirts to each and every game.
