Halifax, Nova Scotia – Halifax Sport & Social Club (HSSC) will be turning the East Coast Adult Recreational Sports world on its head with the launch of their new indoor turf sports leagues. These new leagues will provide over 400 adult players the opportunity to play prime-time games in a brand-new, centrally located turf sports dome starting this Fall.
Given the enormous popularity of soccer, ultimate, and flag football in Halifax, HSSC will be focusing on these sports during the first year of operation.
“Providing our members with the best indoor venues for their favourite sports has always been our goal. The East Coast Varsity Dome will be a premier destination for our weekly leagues and we couldn’t be more thrilled. HSSC will also host skills clinics and weekend tournaments throughout the year. Working with the East Coast Varsity Dome to make this facility a reality is a dream come true!” says Nicole Carlson, Sport Manager, HSSC.
Located in Woodside Park in Dartmouth, next to the arena previously known as “Bowles”, players will be able to access this new Dome by bike, bus or car. Turf League teams will play all games at one single location and be scheduled weeknights during prime time.
The new facility will include:
During the first season, HSSC will be focusing on adult recreational level co-ed sports. Players can register themselves as an individual, an individual with friends, or register an entire team before the Thursday, September 20th deadline using the club’s website www.halifaxsport.ca
“With their years of experience in recreational adult sport and sport facilities across the Canada, the Sport and Social Club have been very supportive and insightful throughout the process of bringing our turf sports dome to reality in Dartmouth. We are very excited to have the Halifax Chapter of the Sport and Social Club bringing recreational, co-ed, fun adult sports to our facility and helping provide the opportunity for more adults to play, which has been less available in the past due to lack of sport facility space” says Brandon Moore, Co-Founder of East Coast Varsity.
The facility will be completed by Friday, May 11th, with leagues running from May 14th to August 31st. More information can be found at www.KSSC.ca or by calling the office at 613-544-TEAM (8326). Our email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
